Energy Bucks Program

Energy Bucks is a program to inform and promote the various existing energy-related programs to Massachusetts residents. Some programs are for everyone while some households have to be income-eligible. Check out the Energy Bucks website for a variety of helpful information.

This winter, find out if you or someone you love could save on heating costs with Energy Bucks.

More than 1 million Massachusetts households are eligible for some level of energy assistance ― but less than half participate. Energy Bucks can help qualifying families save money on their energy bills by making homes more energy efficient and enrolling qualified individuals in money-saving programs. Don't wait for the thermometer to dip ― to see if you or someone close to you qualifies visit www.energybucks.com or call 1-866-LESSCOST to see how to apply and how Energy Bucks can help you stay warm this winter.

Energy Bucks is a statewide campaign working to encourage qualified households to better understand and apply for existing programs that can help them manage their energy costs and is sponsored by the statewide utilities, community action programs, and the Low-Income Energy Affordability Network (LEAN).

Suicide Prevention - New Developments in Understanding & Treating Self-Injury

Presented by Barent Walsh, Ph.D. Executive Director of The Bridge of Central Massachusetts in Worcester, MA Internationally known expert in the field of self-injury and author of the book Treating Self-Injury

Workshop Overview:
One of the most challenging problems for clinicians and other professionals is dealing effectively with self-injury. Of special concern is that self-injury has recently moved from clinical populations such as those served in hospitals and group homes to the general population including middle, high school and college students. This presentation will focus on understanding, managing and treating diverse forms of self-injury including arm and body cutting, self- inflicted burning, and excoriation of wounds. Self-injury will be distinguished from suicidal behavior in terms of a number of key characteristics. Eight levels of care in the management and treatment of self-injury will be reviewed.

Halloween for Hunger Studio Tour!

October is here and it is time for DCATs second annual Halloween for Hunger Studio Tour! On Thursday, October 30thfrom 6pm to 8pm DCAT will be holding this haunted studio tour at 10 School Street. The admission into the studio will be non-perishable food items. Last year we raised almost $500 worth of food, we’re aiming for $1000 this year! This is a fun experience for younger children and their parents.

This was a success last year and we are hoping it will be an even bigger success this year. In order to do that, we need volunteers! I’m looking for dependable crew and cast members to take part in this project. If you are interested in working on the crew or being part of the acting cast, please email me or call me back. We need many positions filled.

Please forward this to everyone in your contact lists. With the economy the way it is there are a lot of people that need help with their groceries. This is a fun way to extend a helping hand. Thanks for your time.
