***Also- we still have a FREE pass good for up to 6 people for the Stone and Franklin Park Zoos! It expires 6/31 and I am not sure yet if it will be renewed. But most dates are open for June if you are interested!

Discounts for Summer Activities


These Discounts are good for Foster families, social workers, clients and even friends and family. So Feel Free to pass along!



Water Country passes will be available again this year. This year’s admission is going up to $36.99. The pass price is $28.00. Tickets may be purchased from Carla. Cash only please. These passes will be available all summer. Passes are valid with no expiration date. (Children under 48 inches are $20.00 at the door). I will also be able to get tickets at presale price of $25. I need to have your order and payment by June 15th and I will order for the $25 price. Later orders can be made but with advance notice and minimum purchase.


Six Flags passes will be available this year. The regular admission is $41.99. The pass price is $25.00. Tickets may be purchased from Carla. Cash only please. These passes will be available all summer.


Canobie Lake passes will be available this year. The regular admission is $30.00. The pass price is $24.50. Tickets may be purchased from Carla. Cash only please. These passes will be available all summer. (Children under 48 inches are $21 at the gate, children under 3 are free) Parking is free.


York's Wild Kingdom The regular admission is $14.75 for children and $19.75 for adults. The pass price is only $11. These tickets can be used from Memorial Day to Labor Day. (children under 4 years old are $4.75 and sold at the gate) Parking is free. This includes the zoo, shows, and amusement rides etc.

Do you know of any events in your town?

Please let me know about child/family events in your town!

I try to go to Safety Days and Touch a Truck events as well as others. We have activities for kids or cookie decorating. I know about Danvers events but not other towns.

Please think of me when you hear of things, and if you know a contact person, please send that along too! thanks !

******************First Aid & CPR Class******************




Hi All,

Is anyone out there looking to renew or receive First Aid & CPR training before mid September? I know of three providers needing it before then. If you are interested please let me know before Monday, May 24th as I am in the process of setting up a class here at Pathways with Cindy Juncka, a Gloucester School nurse & certified American Heart Association instructor. The cost will be $45.00 per person for a maximum of 11 participants.

Tuesday May 25th at 3:30, the Northeast Youth Advisory Board will be meeting with Anthony Barrows, an older foster youth who has been a motivational speaker at many DCF events. He is interested in talking with 18+ foster youth to discuss ideas with the youth, as stakeholders, their ideas about an alumni group. If you have a youth who you feel would be invested please let me know.

Foster child grant

Hi all,
If you have a foster youth on your caseload that has or will age out of C&P custody and attending Post-Secondary Education (ie. college or training schools that receive FAFSA funding), they need to fill out the attached form prior to June 30th. There is a deadline of 7/1 for DCF Adolescent Services at Central to receive these forms. If you have any questions, please let me know. I have listed the eligibility criteria below.

Foster Child Grant Program

Eligibility
A young adult who has not earned a baccalaureate degree and meets the following conditions:
· Is a permanent legal resident of MA
· Is a US citizen or non-citizen eligible under Title IV regulations
· Was placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families through a Care and Protection Petition
· Remained in the care and custody of the Department of Children and Families until the age of 18 and has been unable to return home
· Is not over the age of 24
· Voluntarily agrees to participate in educational support services offered by the Department of Social Services
· Is enrolled full time (12 credits or its equivalent)
· Has applied for financial aid, using the standard Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
· Is in compliance with applicable law regarding Selective Service
· Is not in default of any federal or state student loans for attendance at any institution or owed a refund for any previous financial aid received and
· Is in good standing and meets the institution’s requirements for satisfactory academic progress
