Subject: MLK Day

Dear Saf and Michelle,

Well, it is that time of year again! We are busy planning our party for the teens in Haverhill, Lawrence and Lowell, and then right around the corner will be MLK Day.

I am attaching the Essay contest information for this year--could you perform your magic once again to get the word out? I think last year we had 39 entries, and those who won were so deserving.

Also, we will be awarding a $500 scholarship to a high school senior, or a teen already in an accredited program, at our Christmas party on December 10th. So I will be sending a check to the DSS Kids Fund for that person sometime in December.

Hope you both had a very good year. This has been a very good year for us and HOPE worldwide with many new efforts and much enthusiasm. We are in the process of starting a "Saturday Academy" at Lawrence High School for non-English speaking students and their families, which is very exciting.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
Debbie
