be unfolded.” This workshop will explore the unique pattern of influence upon a child’s behavior and development, with particular detail on the inherited temperament. Together,we will explore the concept of “goodness of fit” between the child’s traits and those of the adult caregiver. This workshop is uplifting, empowering and fun!

Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday March 30th at 11:00 a.m. This fun & free event will take place at North Beverly Elementary School located at 48 Putnam Street. Registration starts at 10:15 a.m. We will have a number of activities like face painting, animal balloons etc before the big hunt begins at 11am. Kids will line up according to age (3 & under; 4 & 5, 6 – 8, and 9 - 11) and Moms and Dads are welcome to accompany their child on the hunt. **We recommend you bring an Easter basket to collect your eggs.** For more info call Garden City Church 978-921-1613

What the Adoption Tax Credit
An adoptive family can apply this credit toward their federal tax liability, meaning it can reduce what they owe in federal income taxes for the year. Most adoptions from U.S. foster care qualify for the maximum amount of the credit even if no qualified adoption expenses occurred, such as necessary adoption fees, court costs, attorney fees, traveling expenses (including meals and lodging while away from home), and other expenses directly related to the legal adoption of an eligible child. If the State or County provides adoption assistance, that is proof that the child was determined to be special needs.

It is really important for foster parents to come to foster care reviews!
It is a task on the child’s service plan that you attend and also in the foster parent agreement.
You bring vital information to the table and it’s very important that you be there.
Of course we do understand when foster parents can’t make it for work or other things out of your control, but in that case you should let your family resource worker know when the review is, and that you are unable to come. You should also write up how the child is doing in school/daycare, home etc as well as any medical issues the child may have and the date of their last dr and dental appointment. That way your voice can be heard even if you can’t be there, and the panel gets the full picture which often only the foster parent can bring.

Getting the

This workshop will look at I-messages as a way to express feelings to others that doesn't blame, shame, put down or threaten. We will also explore alternatives as a means of working together to solve problems.

Did you know foster parents can claim a child as a dependant if they lived with you at least 6 months out of the 2012 tax year?
You can find out more info through the National Foster Care Association Website.
There is a fee to join, but well worth the fees with info they have year round if you are a foster parent.
