FW: Sibling Connections - attachements included!

If you have a child placed with you and their sibling is placed separate. This is a great camp!

Hi Tracy,

Here is information about our programs:

Camp to Belong Massachusetts started over 11 years ago, but is part of a larger brand of camps that serves siblings separated by foster care and other living situations.  Some of the activities include a camp-wide birthday party that gives the siblings an opportunity to celebrate birthdays with one another.  We also have horseback riding, a talent show, and other great events.  We host 120 children, and have approximately 70 volunteers, which is an amazing ratio, and really helps to support the kids.  The counselors will be undergoing a training hosted by Life is Good, which helps them to understand working with kids with trauma.

· Serve siblings separated by foster care between the ages of 7-20

· As long as one sibling is separated the entire family is eligible

· We are an approve vendor with DCF, however if camp money is not available, we can help. We have never turned campers away due to funding

· Camp runs from August 16th - 21st

· Provide bus locations ( reading, Lowell, Springfield, Middleboro) that transport kids to camp

Other than Camp to Belong, Sibling Connections hosts monthly get togethers for the campers and other sibling groups around the state.  "Sibling Sunday" meets for 3 hours, one Sunday a month from October to May.  We have some amazing activities, for instance last month we worked with engineering students from UMASS Lowell to build model airplanes and marshmallow structures, but also for some of the older kids, we gave them a tour of the college.

I have included the following:

1. Sibling Connections Flyn

2. Application ( Camp to Belong MA)

3. Sibling Sunday Referral Form

Please contact Kelley at 617-335-1292 if you have any questions. We currently do not have a waiting list, but please send contact Kelley ASAP before filling out the application.

Best,

Kelley
