ooops... send this one!

Oops! I forgot to update DSS to DCF!  Sorry! This one is correct!

If so, can you ask that this be put in the weekly bulletin ?

Thanks so much!

I hope that you will find the following message worthy of mention in your weekly service or service bulletin:

“Imagine being a child and being hungry.  Fending for yourself.  Or being injured, often permanently and sometimes brutally, by the very person you love and depend upon.  Imagine doing the unthinkable to avert their terrifying rage, abuse, or inattention.  Imagine being taken away from your family, not knowing where you are going or what will happen to you next.  Imagine expecting to be hungry, expecting to be harmed, because that’s all you’ve ever known.  Imagine being a foster child in a strange place, with never-ending fears and only uncertainty ahead….

Doesn’t every child deserve a safe and loving home?  Right now there are children, right here on the North Shore, who need a secure, supportive family who can help them to heal, to feel good about themselves, and to just plain be a kid. There is a critical need for homes that would be willing to care for adolescents.  Could that special family be yours?  The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families asks you to Open your home and take a child to heart.

There are many different types of foster homes. You do not need make a long-term commitment.  You may also choose to only care for one child or a sibling group.  There is a critical need for adolescent homes. Call 1-800-KIDS-508 and find out how you could turn a child’s life around by becoming a foster or adoptive parent.  You may also call the Salem office directly and speak with Carla King at 978-825-3862.

March 27th training

Subject: March 27th training

Hello:

We have a training scheduled in the Salem Office, Morning Madness, Bedtime Blues, on March 27th at 6:30. We have been informed that the trainer cannot arrive until 7:00.
The training will now be from 7:00 until 8:30.

If you would still like to come at 6:30 and enjoy a light supper and conversation that would be great. However, if 7:00 is good for you, that is fine.

Either way, if you could, RSVP by March 24th so we would know how much food to order or who to expect by 7:00, we would appreciate it.

Please call June Littlefield at 978-278-5412 or Nancy Lyons at 978-531-3278 to RSVP.

Thank you,

Nancy Lyons

children's Piazza

Hey folks! This is the new Children’s Place that opened in Beverly! Looks like they have lots of great stuff!

Stop by and check it out, and when you do, stop over at Wicked Awesome Bakery who have been open for a short time but already doing a lot to help foster families!

THE PIAZZA

The Children’s Piazza is a unique indoor playground, café and family enrichment center for children from infancy through age 6 who are accompanied by their parents or caregivers.

“Piazza” is an Italian word meaning “town square” – a central place to meet up, relax, play, and be casually entertained. Although activities vary throughout the day, people-watching is constant.  Designed with this Italian concept in mind, The Children’s Piazza is a place where parents can connect with other parents and enjoy watching their children at play.

Our team consists of a few fabulously creative friends who are also new parents, and a few equally fabulous undergraduate students studying business and early childhood education.  We are all about creating and maintaining a safe, clean, fun AND aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for both you and your little ones to enjoy.

We hope you will visit us soon!  Ciao!
