The Parent Support Group Presents:
Act, Don't Yak: How to cut the yelling in half at home
No one is a perfect parent, friend, or spouse!
With four children born in seven years, Susan Tordella was not the best parent
until she learned about positive parenting skills.
Join us in a free interactive workshop where you are invited to laugh at stories about her journey from yelling, nagging and punishing
to using family meetings, encouragement and mutual respect.

These easy-to-learn strategies will turn down the yelling and turn up the harmony at your home. You will feel calmer, more in control, and less guilty with Act, Don't Yak (thanks to Dr. Sam Goldstein).

About the speaker:
Susan Tordella is the author of "Raising Able: How chores empower families." She has led parenting workshops for more than a decade, where she says, "I teach what I most need to learn, and make it fun." Susan raised four children with positive parenting. "They call home often, but not for money," Susan says. Guardianship and Special Needs Workshop

If you are considering filing for guardianship for your child with special needs when s/he becomes an adult, you probably have many questions and few answers. What's Roger's guardianship? Do I need a lawyer? Does my child really need a guardian?
Attend our 'Guardianship and Special Needs Workshop' at LifeLinks on Wednesday, February 29 to get your questions answered by Attorney David J. Burbridge. He will discuss the many different facets of guardianship, including Clinical Team Reports, Roger's, conservatorship, and determining if your child needs guardianship.

Winter Adaptive Sports & Recreation Activities for People with Disabilities
DCR Outdoor Activities
DCR's Universal Access Program provides outdoor recreation opportunities for people of all abilities at Massachusetts State Parks. Winter activities include accessible snowshoeing, kick sledding, cross-country skiing and ice skating. Sit-skis and seated ice sleds offer options for those with limited mobility, balance or endurance. Check out the various adaptive recreational activities, schedule and to preregister for events at DCR's Universal Access Program - Winter Activities web page. Sib Shops
Sibshops are programs for typically developing brothers and sisters of children
with special needs, including; developmental, behavioral, health, medical and mental
illness. Sibshops are a place for kids that share similar family experiences to
get together. During a Sibshop, kids will play games, do crafts and activities,
talk with other siblings, enjoy a snack and have fun!
Ages 4-7
Dates: Saturday, February 11
& Saturday, April 14
Fee: $15 per session
Time: 9:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
