FREE WEBINAR: Providing safe and affirming homes for LGBTQ youth - Register and Share Now!

Dear Colleague,

We hope this email finds you well! This Thursday, July 27th at 5:00 PM ET, the Human Rights Campaign's All Children - All Families (ACAF) project will host our new webinar: "Caring for LGBTQ Youth: An Introduction for Foster & Adoptive Parents." My colleagues and I would be really grateful if you could share this Facebook post and download the PDF flyer to help spread the word! We've also included sample Twitter language below.

Co-presented by Darryn Green, an ACAF expert trainer and former foster youth and Adam McCormick, PhD, Professor of Social Work at St. Edward's University, the webinar is designed for foster and adoptive parents looking to build their LGBTQ vocabulary, review the latest research on LGBTQ youth, and learn how to best create supportive home environments.

This webinar is the second in a series of five offered throughout 2017 at no cost to all who are interested. For more information on this webinar and the others in the series visit, hrc.im/acaf-webinars. If you have any questions, please feel free to email acaf@hrc.org.

Thank you!

J.P.

Free backpacks at Verizon this weekend!

Hi everyone,

Here is a resource that was shared with me this morning….

There is a free backpack event at select Verizon (TCC) stores this weekend. The one in our area is located in Swampscott at 1016 Paradise Road (781-581-3800) and I called them to verify that they are participating.

All people have to do is show up with the child present to get a free backpack with school supplies.   It is running Sunday 7/23 from 1p-4p.  The link below does give some information.

May is National Foster Casre Month!

As we hit the end of the month of May- National Foster Care Month- I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your commitment to our children!  Without you and the hard work you do, we could not do the work we do.  It’s because of you a child has a warm meal, a comfortable bed and a good night’s sleep.  We all appreciate you more than we can ever truly express!

THANK YOU for being foster parents!

Enjoy the long weekend and bless all we have lost serving our country!
