How to create a support group for grandparents raising grandchildren

The Commission on the Status of   Grandparents Raising Grandchildren presents:   How to Create and Sustain a Successful Support Group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren     Workshop:   Friday, March 16, 2018 9:00 am-12:30 pm Elder Services of Worcester Area, Inc. 67 Millbrook Street Worcester, Ma.     Join members of the Commission and fellow support group facilitators for a half-day workshop on "How to Create and Sustain a Successful Support Group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren."  This workshop is for anyone who is  interested in starting a support group for grandparents and relative caregivers but just didn't know how to get it off the ground.  This workshop is also for anyone who has already started a support group and is looking for new and creative ideas to sustain the group.   This workshop will: - Provide you with information and resources for grandparents and kinship caregivers - Prepare you to start a new support group specific to kinship caregivers' needs - Discuss how to improve facilitation skills - Discuss creative ways to obtain funding - Share "best practices" for support group meetings.   Please register with Colleen Pritoni by 3/9/18 at colleen.pritoni@state.ma.us   *A $25 pp suggested donation for the cost of materials   is kindly requested Click Here For More Information

Quite a few of you have asked me if you can re-new (or get new) and I was going to do I January BUT the prices are going up Jan 3^rd! 

 

So new memberships or renewals are $35 for 13 months.

I can’t send forms to everyone, so if interested, please email me and I’ll send you the form. 

 

All forms MUST be returned by 12/21

 

If you are due to renew in the next six months, I suggest renewing now.  Its 13 months from end date so you don’t lose anything.

Hi Everyone!   Thanksgiving Foster Care Alumni Dinner is coming up! This is a great event for our youth in foster care now or in the past. Attached is a picture for a great event this Saturday at the Salem Moose.

 

It’s a vendor/craft fair!  The organizer is donating profits to this office to help pay for our foster parent appreciation dinner !

The event is from 11-3

There will be a petting zoo there to entice families in! 

We will also have a recruitment table!
