ACTION ALERT January 12, 2012 Budget proposal includes $1.8 million for state college tuition assistance for DCF-involved youth. Contact House Members and tell them to support this funding!   We are thrilled that the 2012 supplemental budget proposal released by the House Ways and Means Committee today includes $1.8 million for state college tuition assistance and fee waivers for foster youth and youth adopted from DCF care.   We all know the importance and life changing impact of a college education, and this funding provides critical support for youth who may not otherwise have the financial ability to attend college.   We need YOUR help to ensure that this vital funding is passed.  Please reach out to House leadership and your Representative THIS WEEK and let them know that this funding is important to you.   Please follow these two steps: Click here to e-mail Speaker DeLeo and Chairman Dempsey and thank them for their leadership on this issue.
