FW: William Warren Scholarship Deadline August 5 2013

 

 

 

Hello Everyone!

 

The William Warren Scholarship (deadline is August 5^th) and is for DCF youth who are or have been in care and are pursuing education at accredited institutes of higher learning.

Please see the link below which will give you the application and a further list of the qualifications and please share with your clients who meet these requirements.

Eligibility and Qualifications:

• Applicants must be in DCF care or custody or have been in the past for a minimum of one year.

• Applicants must be under age 25.

• Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary Title IV eligible program. (Students should contact

specific schools to verify Title IV eligibility)

• Applicants must demonstrate academic potential and commitment to educational goals.

• Applicants must demonstrate significant unmet financial need.

• Applicants must demonstrate the ability to overcome challenges and obstacles.

 

 

 

HOWEVER…f youth are on an open 18+ voluntary with DCF, they should utilize the ETV (Education Training Voucher) to which they can apply throughout their post-secondary school year.
