Apparently JC Penney hair salons (which the Taunton mall does have) will give free haircuts throughout the month of August to elementary school aged kids (K-6). They are asking to make an appointment, so the number at the Taunton JC Penney hair salon is 508-824-4998, Attleboro at Emerald Square is 508-699-6700, Dartmouth mall is 508-997-1501, and Providence Place is 401-751-3050.

This is for next week. I dont know much about this camp (I dont know anything) but they are looking for 23 more teens to give camp to! 7th -12th grade.

Maybe a family who has a bored kid? or a foster parent in need of a little break???

Yesterday, I sent out a letter to my New England customers, who have signed up with our site, to let them know about a totally free week of camp at the WILDS of New England, located in Deering, NH. This is for teenagers, going in the 7th grade, to those who just finished 12th grade. The camp is next week, AUGUST13-18th, 2012 in Deering, NH.   I'm so sad to say that only 7 people have responded and said that they can come. So, here I am, trying to get 23 more campers to go to a fabulous week of camp up where my son, Andy, is counseling. (For those of you who have followed me and my family's story, he's the son who sings, . .the one who is one my home page singing the special at Sarah's wedding,  here:) So, why are we doing this? Well, this week is the final week of camp for The Wilds of New England, (TWNE), and Andy, my son, is counseling there. We did this last year for a camp in NC, when their attendance allowed it, and everyone was incredibly blessed, by having more campers and the campers loved it (and I got a tax write-off!). So, if you can do this, you'll be HELPING me, and helping the camp PLUS helping your friend/son/daughter or neighborhood child! We will NOT turn any one away. Do NOT hesitate to respond, because you think that we're "full up." We would expand up to 50, if you could find 10 or 20 teens who could come. We'd LOVE to have them and if we get enough to come, Andy said that I should come up and meet them all.. and I'd love to come to NH again. It was just beautiful in July! Get your BROCHURE HERE You would need to get the campers there, pick them up and fill out the forms. That would be your ONLY responsibility.       TOTALLY FREE This is a gift worth $275 to each and every camper who gets to take advantage of it. There is NO obligation (I promise) and if YOU can't use this free week of camp next week, you can send it on to someone else who can.   Just contact the WILDS if you want to do this. One of our Foster Parents (Andrea Walke) would like to invite all the female teens between the ages of 14 and 20 to a Career Path Course (and much more) on September 4th from 3pm to 6pm at the Salem Department of Children and Families. 

 

Andrea would like to guide the girls though a course that would assist them in making some real life choices.  Attached is an outline of what she will be reviewing with the teens.  This will be a fun class that will assist the teens in making real life choices.
