Register Online at nsmcfamilyresourcecenter.org FINAL Orientation, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 | | Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) ADULT Program SPRING 2011 This eight week, 9 session MBSR course is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness, meditation, and mindful hatha yoga. Developed in the Stress Reduction Clinic, at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, in 1979, this program is designed to teach program participants how to integrate and apply mindfulness in their everyday lives and to the range of challenges arising from life stresses. Based on the foundations of Mind Body and Integrated Medicine, MBSR focuses on development of mindfulness. During this class you will have the opportunity to participate in "formal" and "informal" mindfulness practices. These practices may promote healthy ways to cope with stress and life challenges. MBSR may help you access strengths you already have and enhance your well being through the development and refinement of your own resilience.
