martin luther king day celebration, guest speaker victoria rowell

Victoria Rowell will be the guest and featured speaker at an upcoming event to commemorate Martin Luther King Day. The event is being co-sponsored by the Boston Church of Christ and Hope Worldwide. The event will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2007 at Lombardo’s in Randolph from 1:00 P.M. to around 3 P.M. Admission is free.

As you know, for over a decade, Victoria Rowell, through her Rowell Foster Children's Positive Plan, has been making it possible for many of our foster children from the greater boston area to attend dance, art and theatre classes and sports events. In addition, this holiday season, some of your offices were helped by the Boston Church of Christ who provided your areas with holiday gift cards for teens and/or sponsored your children's holiday party.

To commemorate Martin Luther King Day and to show our thanks to Victoria Rowell for all she has done for our children over so many years, it would be very nice to have a good representation of foster families to attend this event. Staff are also very welcome.

Please let me know if you will be attending (and how many) so we can get an idea as to how many are going. Thanks!

Gift cards received at shopping night

At least two foster parents that I know of, have had issues with the gift cards for teens that night.
PLEASE let me know if yours reads "0" balance, There was an issue that we thought that we resolved. We have receipts etc and can "fix" the problem. Please PLEASE let me know if you had a problem! This was a problem statewide. Central office purchased them and they were not all activiated or something like that. Again, we thought we resolved it.
