Tax Guide for Foster and Adoptive Parents

The National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) has posted its annual tax guide for foster and adoptive parents and kinship caregivers for tax year 2008. The guide explains basic rules and offers tips on ways that foster and adoptive parents and kinship caregivers can claim the deductions and credits available to them. The guide lists changes in the 2008 tax law, including increases in the Adoption Tax Credit, Earned Income Credit, and Education Credit. NFPA suggests that users give a copy of the guide to their tax advisors.
