 Free Health Care Assessments for Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities: June 22 & 23, Boston. HealthMeet will be holding free health assessments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Health & Fitness Expo at the The Arc of Massachusetts exhibit booth. HealthMeet is a new project that aims to improve the health of individuals with I/IDD.  See deets on the Home Page.


 “Morningstar Access” at Boston Children's Museum:
July 15th & August 15th. New program that offers children with special needs the opportunity to enjoy the Museum in a quieter, uncrowded environment with few other visitors. Pre-registration is required. See the Home Page.


 Special-Needs Students Self Defense Event:
June 25th, Boston. Watch Boston Public Schools special-education students demonstrate their new skills in abuse prevention and self defense gained from attending the IMPACT:Ability program. See Home Page.


 Horseback Riding & Special-Needs Adoption Party: 
June 22, Holyoke. An information and orientation session to meet families who have adopted a child with special needs, DCF social workers, MARE staff and interact and enjoy horseback riding with children and teens who are waiting for adoption. See the Home Page for more info.


 Unraveling the Intricacies of Aspergers Syndrome:
June 22, July 27, August 10, Lynnfield. Sessions cover Understanding Asperger's Syndrome History and Background, The Core Neurological Characteristics of Asperger's Syndrome, and  Strategies, Planning and Success.See Autism & Aspergers Page.


 Community Safety Day for Disabilities:
June 22nd, Boston. Hosted by Boston Police Community Service Office and is for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other related developmental disabilities and their families/caregivers. See Home Page .


 “Everyone’s a Winner” Special-Needs Resource Day:
June 22nd, Hopedale. Find local community resources including Bright Beginnings Center, Music Together of Blackstone Valley, Pathways to Learning, Kennedy Donovan Center, Hopedale Cub Scouts, Athletes 4 Autism, Hopedale SPEAC, Alternative Educational Support, and more. See the Home Page .


 Innovations in Health & Wellness for Psychiatric Disabilities:
June 26th, Boston. Vinfen and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health present this conference, where attendees will learn about the “In SHAPE” health and fitness peer mentoring model, grants, speakers such as DMH area director Patrica Kenny, local experts and more.  Free Mental Health & Law Enforcement Conference: 
June 21st, Fitchburg. This Massachusetts Department of Mental Health conference is geared towards Police and First Responders, Emergency Service Providers, DMH & DYS staff, Veterans’ Services, NAMI, and community stakeholders. See Mental Health Page. 


 Discipline in Schools - Parents & Students Rights:

June 25thBoston: PPal Statewide Family Mental Health Meeting. For family members, family partners, family support specialists, parent coordinators and others in family support roles for a child with a mental health needs.  Inclusive/Special-Needs Camps for All Ages & Abilities:
Camp S.A.I.L. outings and transportation practice in Wakefield, Camp Social Connection peer experiences in the town of Harvard, and Super Soccer Stars Shine in Cambridge for developmental and intellectual disabilities.  Beach Wheel Chairs Now Available:
Cape Cod Public Beaches. Smile Mass has sponsored floating beach wheelchairs on many public beaches on Cape Cod, including Barnstable, Chatham, Dennis, Mashpee, Provincetown, Sandwich and more locations. See Home Page


 New Boston Mental-Health NAMI Affiliate:
NAMI Boston was created by bringing NAMI GB-CAN, NAMI Latino, and NAMI Dorchester, Mattapan/Roxbury under the umbrella of NAMI Boston. NAMI Boston’s goal is to deliver advocacy, support and education to Boston residents and their families dealing with mental illness. More on Mental Health Page. 


 Get to the Root of ADD/ADHD and Executive Function:
June 25th - Bedford, July 11th - Beverly, July 24th -Lincoln. Psychologist Dr. Jolene Ross will cover executive functioning skills of organization, planning, emotional control and more, and how they can be improved, plus  current research. See the ADD & ADHD Page.

- Sensory Friendly-Movies, June 29th, Monsters University, AMC Theaters in Braintree, Burlington, North Dartmouth, Framingham, Methuen, and Tyngsboro.
- Sudbury Adaptive Sports is open to all towns, and offers Infant, Youth, Teen and Young Adult therapeutic Aquatics, Dance, Rowing, Sailing, Soccer and more.
- Whole Children in Hadley will have Anime, Lego, Social Skills and Pokemon classes, plus Adaptive Sports, Games, Theater and more.

  Adult Aspergers & Related Conditions Conference:
July 20th, Newton. The Jody Acford Spirit Know Yourself: The Key to a Better Life conference is for adults (post high school and older) with AS/related conditions, and features Keynote speaker Ari Ne'eman with The Autism Spectrum in the 21st Century:Where We've Been, Where We Are and Where We're Going plus workshops and networking. Transition 101 - Transition to Work Independence: June 27th, Dorchester.  Effective use of the IEP and the Massachusetts Transition Planning Form, age of majority, self determination and self advocacy, life skill development, etc.
- Self-Advocacy Training, June 29th. How to self-advocate in a variety of settings. Free, and open to anyone with a disability aged 14 -24.
- Massachusetts 2013 Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) for Students with Disabilities: July 15-18, 2013. YLF is a free overnight leadership conference for youth with any type of disability in their last two years of high school.
