FW: Educational Resource

Good morning everyone!

I would like to pass along a wonderful resource to you through the Family Center at the Northshore Consortium.

The Family Center at the Northshore Education Consortium in Beverly provides high quality educational information, community resources and parent support programs for families with special needs and at-risk children. The Center is available for use by all families and professionals from within the North Shore community.

The Family Center offers an environment where families always feel welcome. Parents and other family members are greeted by empathic staff knowledgeable about children with special needs. The Family Center provides a lending library with books, articles and up-to-date literature on a multitude of topics including special needs, at-risk youth, medical, developmental and behavioral conditions, substance abuse, family issues and parenting. Computer access is available for families with links to national and community organizations and agencies. The Center provides further support to families through parent support groups, parent trainings and educational workshops. Professional development for educators and other professionals is offered throughout the school year.

Below is a list of upcoming trainings that are offered through the Family Center.  All workshops are held at the Northshore Consortium at 112 Sohier Rd in Beverly.  A complete listing and description of each workshop can be found at www.nsedu.org/services/familycenter.php   Registration is required, so if you or a family you work with would like to attend, please RSVP Marian Myers at 978-232-9755 Ext 1328.
