Do you attend a worship place?

If so, can you ask that this be put in the weekly bulletin ?

Thanks so much!

I hope that you will find the following message worthy of mention in your weekly service or service bulletin:

“Imagine being a child and being hungry.  Fending for yourself.  Or being injured, often permanently and sometimes brutally, by the very person you love and depend upon.  Imagine doing the unthinkable to avert their terrifying rage, abuse, or inattention.  Imagine being taken away from your family, not knowing where you are going or what will happen to you next.  Imagine expecting to be hungry, expecting to be harmed, because that’s all you’ve ever known.  Imagine being a foster child in a strange place, with never-ending fears and only uncertainty ahead….

Doesn’t every child deserve a safe and loving home?  Right now there are children, right here on the North Shore, who need a secure, supportive family who can help them to heal, to feel good about themselves, and to just plain be a kid. There is a critical need for homes that would be willing to care for adolescents.  Could that special family be yours?  The Massachusetts Department of Social Services asks you to Open your home and take a child to heart.

There are many different types of foster homes. You do not need make a long-term commitment.  You may also choose to only care for one child or a sibling group.  There is a critical need for adolescent homes. Call 1-800-KIDS-508 and find out how you could turn a child’s life around by becoming a foster or adoptive parent.  You may also call the Salem office directly and speak with Carla King at 978-825-3862.
